The Romans, from Enterprise National League South, were beaten 1-0 by their Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South hosts.

City, who named three trialists in their squad, went down to an 84th-minute goal from Kane Simpson. He put the ball away from close range seconds after the Peacocks appealed for a penalty for what they considered was a foul on Jayden Nielsen.

The match was Taunton’s third friendly of the summer.

City’s starting XI: Wiles-Richards, Trialist A, Greenslade, Batten, Parselle, Alves, Jenkins-Davies, Wilson, Tillson, Beardmore, Russe.

Bath are in action at the Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park on Saturday 12th July when they receive EFL League One side Port Vale in a friendly (3pm).

Odd Down, from Jewson Western League Division One, lost 3-0 when they visited Corsham Town on Tuesday 8th July for their first friendly.

Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division club Corsham, who had already played three warm-up matches prior to the clash with Jamie Walter’s men, scored all of their goals in the second half.

The Down will take on Southern League Division One South outfit Frome Town at the Lew Hill Memorial Ground on Saturday 12th July (3pm).
