Southside Youth Hub is set to host Sound and Vision, an event celebrating local music, art and creativity, on Saturday 20th June, between 11am – 2pm.
The free event is open to all, and is being organised by the Youth Hub, part of Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Youth Connect service, in partnership with Bath Festivals, CURO, DNA Arts and a host of other local agencies and voluntary groups.
It will include: live music by young people; the launch of a CD by Southside Music Project; the premier of a video called ‘Get Some Footage’ by DNA Arts; art displays; a free barbecue; art workshops and displays; mural painting; children’s activities; prize bingo; street dancing; face painting and more.
Dave Wiles, Bath Team leader for Youth Connect said: “This event will demonstrate the arts are alive and well in in the Whiteway/Twerton area of Bath.
“We are so proud of the young people whose creativity, confidence and self-esteem we have seen grow through their engagement in the arts and music and this will be a great day to show case their talent.”
Hazel Plowman from Bath Festivals added: “We are delighted to be part of the Sound and Vision event.
“Our Music Leader has been working with young people at Southside for the past nine months and this is a really exciting opportunity for these young people to share their music with the community.”
