An impressive line-up of bands from City of Bath College’s BA1 Records will take to the stage in a musical showcase next week.
Seven acts will appear under one roof in the latest POP! #Whatever show at Belvoir Castle in Bath.
Acts include Unlucky Number, Two Tone, Last Minute Line up, Television Villain, Where’s Morocco? , Summoned By Ash and The Foolish Knaves.
It will be the first time on stage for Summoned by Ash, a pop-punk band made up of City of Bath College students Jack Buckland, 17, Lauren Kate, 17, Tom Swarn, 16, Andrew Head, 18, and Josh Risdon, 18.
The band’s guitarist Jack, a first year Level 3 Music student, said: “This will be our first gig; we’re very excited about it.
“We have been practising a lot to make sure we’re at the top of the game and now we’re ready.
“We can’t wait to get up on stage; this is definitely the right time for us. We know we have to start somewhere and then it will be our time to progress. Bath has a great music community and we’re looking forward to being part of it.”
Vocalist Lauren, also a first year Level 3 Music student, said the band was ready to take to the stage after getting together in October.
She said: “We play very upbeat happy music, which is all our own material.
“We come up with a riff then work on a tune and lyrics together until everything just fits.”
Catch the bands on stage at the POP! #Whatever gig on Tuesday, February 25th at Belvoir Castle on the Lower Bristol Road at 6pm. It’s a 16+ concert and entry is £2.
Jack added: “It’s going to be a great night of music and will really show what young people can do when they set their minds to it.”
Summoned By Ash will follow up the POP! #Whatever gig by playing a 15-minute set at the Bath Skills Fair at City of Bath College on Wednesday, March 12th.
