People are being invited to comment on plans for a new pavilion/changing rooms and cycle shelter at the Odd Down Playing Fields.
The development is designed to improve the existing facilities as more people are using them – particularly those attending events at the new Odd Down Cycle Circuit.
Councillor David Dixon (Lib-Dem, Oldfield), Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, said: “We’re really pleased that so many people are taking the opportunity to get active and enjoy a healthy lifestyle. We’ve listened to the suggestions of Odd Down users – which included the request for a shelter at the entrance to the circuit to protect people from the elements when they’re registering for cycling events or hiring bicycles.
“Bath & North East Somerset Council is keen to offer more opportunities for people to enjoy increased participation in sport – particularly those who may have low levels of activity and health inequalities. We’re encouraging local people and sporting groups to take a look at the planning application and submit their comments by 2 January to help us ensure we can make even better use of our open spaces.”
The planning application can be viewed and commented on via the Council’s website. The Council has also submitted an enhanced planning application for the development – subject to available funding from the Football Association and the Rugby Football Union. This enhanced application can also be viewed and commented on via the Council’s website.
The closing date for comments is Thursday 2nd January, 2014.
