Reports came in just before 4pm of the Great Western Air Ambulance landing in Roundhill Park to attend the incident.
Police closed off a large area around the mini-roundabout near the Co-operative food store.
It is believed the woman involved in the collision was elderly.
The air ambulance left the scene at around 4.30pm, with the woman being taken with the helicopter’s critical care team by road ambulance to the RUH.
The roads remained closed while an investigation took place.
Initial reports suggest that the driver of the van has been arrested, however there is no confirmation at this time.
