Local residents are being urged to keep safe this morning after heavy fog descended across much of the area.
The weather is set to stay foggy until late morning in some places across Bath, with Lansdown and the A46 towards J18 of the M4 being badly affected.
Motorists are advised to use their fog lights where necessary.
The Met Office say the fog should be completely clear by early afternoon.
Advice from the AA says: “When there’s fog around visibility can seriously deteriorate in a matter of seconds. Be extra vigilant and drive only as fast as conditions allow and maintain a greater distance between you and the car in front.”
“At a junction with limited visibility, stop, wind down the window, and listen for traffic. When you are sure it is safe to emerge, do so positively and do not hesitate in a position that puts you directly in the path of approaching vehicles.”
