The opening date of the new Primark store in Bath has been revealed by the clothing retailer, marking one of the most talked about store openings in the city this year.
The company confirmed that it will be opening its doors on Friday 18th July at 9am.
Primark was given planning permission from Bath and North East Somerset Council in February to modify the former BHS building and make it more suitable for their needs.
The changes include a new entrance to the store, and general layout modifications including new escalators.
Waterproofing of the vaults of the shop and the basement also took place after permission was granted for the work.
Local residents have welcomed the news, with most of them currently travelling to Bristol to take advantage of the cheaper clothing on offer from the retailer.
BHS on Stall Street closed in December last year to make way for the new Primark store, a deal which the two companies have now completed a number of times.
A BHS in Cardiff has already been converted into a Primark, and in 2010 there were ten BHS stores which were taken over by Primark.
