A new taste of Italy was bought to The Vaults, Southgate’s dining quarter, yesterday with the opening of award winning Italian restaurant Prezzo.
The new restaurant on Brunel Square will serve popular and innovative Italian food, including a fantastic range of pizza and pasta and grills. It will also offer a range of tapas style small main courses, aimed at sharing together, as well as a selection of wines which have been matched to individual dishes.
The restaurant is opening in two adjoining grade I listed arches, which were originally designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and date back to the 1840s. The building has undergone a £500,000 redevelopment and will create 20 new jobs. Open from 12noon to 11pm throughout the week, the restaurant has seating for 110 diners; 70 in the restaurant and an additional 40 in an outside area.
Prezzo chief executive Jonathan Kaye said: “The restaurant will serve the highest quality food in comfortable and stylish surroundings and I believe that it will be a good addition to Bath’s social scene.”
Prezzo joins a host of local and national eateries at The Vaults including Bertinet Bakery, Jika Jika, Graze, Nandos and GBK.
