Wera Hobhouse wins latest election and continues as city’s MP

Wera Hobhouse, representing the Liberal Democrats, has been reelected as the Member of Parliament for Bath, receiving just over forty-one per cent of the votes in the 4th July General Election.

Mrs Hobhouse received a total of 19,883 votes, with Labour candidate Daniel Bewley coming second with 8,665 votes.

Conservative James Wright came third with 7,659 votes, followed by the Green Party’s Dom Tristram with 5,952 votes.

There was a turnout of 69.37%, a decrease from 77.18% in December 2019, though there has been a significant boundary change.

The total number of rejected ballot papers was 192.

The final figures for Bath are:

  • A.N.ON – Independent: 25 votes
  • Matthew Alford – Workers Party of Britain: 230 votes
  • Daniel Bewley – Labour Party: 8,665 votes
  • Colin Blackburn – Independent: 1,749 votes
  • Bill Blockhead – Independent: 169 votes
  • Teresa Hall – Reform UK: 3,798
  • Wera Hobhouse – Liberal Democrats: 19,883 votes
  • Dom Tristram – Green Party: 5,952 votes
  • James Wright – Conservatives: 7,659 votes

Total number of valid ballot papers: 48,130.
