The single-storey outbuilding and decking area at the end of a garden in the High Street replaced an old run-down barn that had been there. The work was carried out in November 2022.
The Grade II listed house at No.165 and the garden are within Batheaston Conservation Area while the rear boundary of the plot borders the Green Belt.
The new building has been used as a home office and as a holiday let “on a very low-key basis”, according to the application now lodged with Bath & North East Somerset Council.
The submission notes that any impacts on the character and appearance of the surrounding area and neighbouring properties are “very limited indeed”.
It says that although there is no off-street parking, only one person or a couple would stay at the holiday let for any period of time so one extra car parking on the surrounding road network would not be unacceptable.
The planning reference is 24/04200/FUL. The deadline for comments is 19th December.
