MP Ben Howlett visits Bath Press Site ahead of redevelopment for homes
Ben Howlett, the MP for Bath, recently visited the Bath Press Site, which is set to be developed into 244 new homes if planning permission is granted by B&NES Council.

The site, formerly owned by Tesco, will see more family housing developed in this prime brownfield location.
Details of the application are available on the BANES Planning Portal under planning reference 15/02162/EFUL.
Ben said: “I am delighted to welcome this development to Bath. The scheme is well planned and conceived with a good mix of office space, open space, no student accommodation, and affordable housing.
“This development promises to meet all the criteria you would want for family living in Bath – more affordable, with green access through cycling and walking, combined with excellent local infrastructure and superfast broadband.
“At the meeting I suggested that the developers work with BANES Council to further reduce the cost of housing by accessing some of the additional funds made available via the Government, as announced in this spring’s budget, following a long campaign I ran with other MPs.”
Jamie Pearson of Meyer Homes commented: “We believe this scheme will be real asset to the area and look forward to getting started on site.”
