Electors across Bath and North East Somerset are being asked to check and complete their household enquiry form online, in order to reduce overall costs.
The Electoral Registration Officer of every local authority in the UK is required by law to send the form to all properties in their area.
The information on the form is used to prepare an accurate register of electors and enables verification of a resident’s eligibility to vote when there is an election.
This year, in order to reduce printing, postage and processing costs, the Electoral Registration Officer of Bath & North East Somerset Council is emailing electors to check if the information held is correct or whether changes need to be made.
Electors will be asked to visit a secure web link: https://elecreg.co.uk/bathnes-ehef.
They will then be asked to enter their postcode and parts 1 and 2 of the security code included in the email, before following the onscreen instructions.
Properties for which the Electoral Registration Office does not have an email address will be posted a form in August.
