Ben Howlett, the Member of Parliament for Bath, has highlighted to Ministers his concerns about the level of investment in transport across the south west, compared to other areas in the country.

Recent figures show transport spend per capita of population at just £219, the second lowest, compared to £1869 in London.
Ben said: “I have written to the Secretary of State for Transport to see what steps are being taken to address this disparity.
“Transport infrastructure is crucial in the south west to ensure the area’s future economic development.
“Additional funding is much needed to ensure projects such as the A36/46 link road are able to progress.
“If a similar level of funding per head were available to the south west as the capital, some of Bath’s transport woes could rapidly be alleviated.
“I have invited the Minister to visit Bath to see the issues for himself and very much hope he will accept.”
