Police detectives investigating a sexual assault on a student in Bath have released a CCTV image of her attacker and appealed for help from the public to identify him.
At around 10pm on Wednesday 6th November, the victim, who is in her 20s, had just left a friend and was walking away from the city centre along James Street West.
As she passed the car park of the Riverside Health Centre she was sexually assaulted. After the attack a female sixth form student helped the victim and drove her back to her home in Oldfield Park.
Det Insp Charlotte Tucker said: “It is clear that the victim was followed before being assaulted. We would like to hear from anyone who saw a man matching this image and wearing clothes like these in the area around James Street West at about 10pm on Wednesday Nov 6.”
The suspect was wearing a dark, thin waterproof hooded jacket, trainers and dark denim Voi–brand jeans with distinctive V-shape motifs on the rear pockets.
He is described as white, in his late teen or early 20s, around 5ft 10ins-6ft tall with dark ear-length hair with a fringe and very wide, open eyes.
Anyone who saw the man or who can identify him from the CCTV image is asked to call Bath CID on 101 or the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
