Avon and Somerset Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after two young people died after the car they were travelling in left the road near the south of Bath.
The incident happened at about 8pm on Friday night (27th June) when a VW Polo left the A39 near to Farrington Gurney.
It was travelling towards Bristol from Wells when the vehicle left the road on a bend near to the junction of the A39 with the A37 at Rush Hill.
A 19-year-old woman and 21-year-old man, who were both passengers in the car, were seriously injured and died at the scene shortly afterwards.
Another passenger was taken to Southmead Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the vehicle received minor injuries.
Collision investigators closed the road to allow a detailed examination of the scene.
They are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident who may have information to help their enquiries.
