Avon and Somerset Police have cordoned off a street in the centre of Bath while they investigate a suspected sexual assault in the early hours of this morning.
Swallow Street, adjacent to Stall Street, was closed for most of the day while forensic teams investigated the 2am attack on the 17-year-old girl.
Police Community Support Officers were posted at each end of the street to stop members of the public going near the scene.
More details on the assault have not yet been released by police.
