Police Appeal After Man Attacked In Sydney Gardens

Avon and Somerset Police in Bath are appealing for witnesses after a 60-year-old man was attacked and robbed in Sydney Gardens.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who saw an altercation between two men at around 2.55pm on Monday 9th June.

The victim was sitting on a bench when a second man approached him, stole his sunglasses from his head and grabbed him by the shirt.

The victim managed to break free and went to the Holburne Museum to call the police.

A 27 year old man was later arrested in the park on suspicion of assault. He has been bailed pending further inquiries.

Anyone who saw the incident or who has any information is asked to call Bath police on 101 quoting reference number 57790/14.
