Avon and Somerset Police in Bath are appealing for a Good Samaritan motorist who intervened to stop a young man being attacked and robbed in Bath to contact detectives.

It happened at around 10pm on Saturday 15th March in Haycombe Drive, Whiteway.

A 19-year-old had been grabbed from behind and dragged to the ground, where he was repeatedly kicked by two men.

A driver in a black Audi stopped to help the victim and the two attackers and a young woman with them ran off towards Rosewarn Park.

The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated for facial injuries.

The Audi driver did not leave any contact details and detectives are now asking him to get in touch as they believe he has valuable information about the incident.

He is asked to call Bath CID on 101 quoting crime reference number 26496/14.
