Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was seriously injured in a collision in Radstock this morning.
At just before 7am, a Honda Civic was in collision with a cyclist on the A362 Frome Road.
The cyclist, a man in his forties, suffered serious head injuries and was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath for treatment.
He is due to be transferred to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol.
The road was closed to allow a scene investigation to take place but has now re-opened.
Investigating officer PC Andrew Grigg, of the Collision Investigation Unit based in Weston-super-Mare, is appealing for anyone who saw the collision or has information which could assist the inquiry to come forward.
