Listed building consent is being sought at 8 Abbey Church Yard for the erection of scaffolding so that repairs and reinstatement works can be carried out.

Last summer the Grade II listed building suffered fire damage and subsequent water damage from damping down the flames.

A portion of the roof has been lost, leaving the top floor exposed to the elements except for tarpaulin sheeting.

In its current condition, the site is said to be causing a negative impact on the World Heritage Site and Bath Conservation Area.

The planning reference is 26/00477/LBA. The deadline for comments is 10th April.
