Plans to demolish garden ‘shack’ and build three-bed house
Bath & North East Somerset Council is being asked to approve plans for a three-bed house on the site of a ‘shack’ in Lower Swainswick.

An “eco-friendly” property is being proposed in the garden next to Monksmead in Deadmill Lane following the demolition of a building which has a tin roof and has been used for storage.
The proposed house has “an imaginative high-quality design creating a modern living environment”, according to the application, which adds that there has been careful assessment to ensure the development has “minimal” impact on neighbouring properties.
The plans show parking for three cars with charging points; electricity use within the development will be subsidised from solar units on the roof, and there be a ‘grey water’ collection system for toilet use.
The planning reference is 25/03962/FUL. The deadline for comments is 11th June.
