A Bath health centre wants to chop down a tree which has a preservation order to create more parking spaces.

The practice wants to remove the tree on the right

Heart of Bath Medical Partnership has submitted the application to Bath & North East Somerset Council to fell the large tree at Oldfield Surgery at Upper Oldfield Park.

The tree is at the front of the building to the right-hand side of the car park when looking at the building.

The application says: “By removing this tree, we can then facilitate more parking spaces for the NHS GP practice.

“The tree would be removed and the area tarmacked to allow more parking which would be extremely beneficial to the practice.”

It is acknowledged that the unspecified tree is not diseased or in poor condition, nor is it damaging any property.

The planning reference is 25/03677/TCA and the deadline for comments is 15th October.
