There are just days to go until Peasedown St John’s biggest annual event, the 7th Party in the Park village festival, which is expected to bring thousands of locals together.

Sponsored by Michael Gould Property Agents, The Learning Day Tree Nursery, Bath Audi, Bath College, St John’s Church, Curo Housing and Peasedown St John Parish Council, more than 2,500 people are expected to come along to enjoy seven and a half hours of live music and entertainment.

The event includes a huge array of stalls and attractions, the village’s first ever Great Village Bake Off with celebrity chef Richard Bertinet, the return of the Peasedown Diamond cider, the results of the Party in the Park Grant Giveaway, and the announcement of the 2015 Sara Holley Community Award.

Nicola Gould from Michael Gould Property Agents, who are based in the centre of the village, said: “The event organisers have been working very hard to ensure this year’s Party in the Park is the best yet with even more attractions, performers and celebrity guests.

“Michael Gould Property Agents are always pleased to support events that make a positive impact in the community, which is why we are pleased to be one of the 2015 official sponsors.”

Main stage performances, which have been sponsored by Peasedown St John Parish Council, include Plucky Purcell, Foreign Affairs, Too Much Lipstick, DJ Pete Bailey, The Rockerteers, Bath Spa Brass band, Sue Hill School of Dance, Shine Dance, The Reacharounds, Jamie Woodlands Black Belt Academy, Dweamah Dance and Zumba Gold.

Jo Davis is a member of the festival’s organising team. She commented: “We are hoping to top the last six festivals and put on a show never seen before in Peasedown St John.

“The team has worked exceptionally hard this year. We have almost 60 attractions, more than 50 volunteers signed up to make sure things run smoothly, and have smashed our fundraising target of £3,000 which we need to host the event.

“The eight volunteer members of the management team have contributed more than 200 hours of time to ensure Peasedown’s Party in the Park lives up to its already positive reputation.”

To add extra excitement to the proceedings, this year’s Special Guest Hosts have been confirmed as Pete Helmore and Luke Barnes from Somer Valley FM, with the radio station being the festival’s official partner.

Peasedown St John’s Party in the Park festival will be held on Saturday 13th June on Beacon Field, French Close (BA2 8SN), from 11.30 am – 7 pm.

Parking is limited around Orchard Way so people are encouraged to walk or use public transport.

B&NES Council has granted a road closure for French Close for the duration of the event which will be facilitated by the Paulton Army Cadets.
