The organisers of Peasedown St John’s Party in the Park are looking for local companies to sponsor this year’s huge community event.

In the run up to the 6th annual summer celebration local businesses and organisations are being asked to come forward to show their support.

Mike Auton, the festival’s fundraising manager said: “With our vision of making Party in the Park bigger and better every year, this year’s extravaganza will cost more than £6,000 to host.

“Seven hours of live music on our 45-foot trailer stage, hot food and drink, a huge range of stalls and attractions, and the return of our Peasedown Diamond cider, are just a few of the things on offer on the 14th June.

“As well as the fun side of the show, we also need to make sure we can cover the costs of our public liability insurance, our premises license and all the health and safety aspects that shouldn’t be taken for granted.”

Businesses and organisations who want to support Party in the Park can sign up to a number of sponsorship packages that include adverts in the official programme; logos on banners, posters and the event website; promotion through the local press; and acknowledgement by the festival’s special guest hosts.

So far, more than £2,000 has been given or pledged by organisations including Bluebird Care, Bath Audi, Michael Gould Estate Agents, Norton Radstock College, St John’s Church and Arleens Coach Hire.

Somer Valley FM is the official event partner for 2014.

Julian Drew, the Business Manager at Bath Audi said: “I am delighted that Bath Audi is once again able to support the Peasedown Party in the Park event. The party is great fun for all the family and allows us to get involved with the local community that is just a stone’s throw from our dealership on Bath Business Park.

“I will be keeping my fingers crossed that the weather is kind to us on that day so that the people of Peasedown can really enjoy an excellent day out for all the family.”

Last year more than 2,500 people attended Party in the Park – making it one of the most popular and well attended community events in Bath and North East Somerset.

Bluebird Care (Bath and North East Somerset) Director Tim Rowland-Jones added: “We are pleased again to be sponsoring Party in the Park this year. Many of our customers live in the Peasedown area and tell us often how successful and enjoyable the event is.

“Bluebird Care (Bath and North East Somerset) is always building new links with communities projects and groups because they matter to the people we work with.

“Good luck to the organisers for the 2014 festival. I’m sure it will be the biggest and best yet.”

Festival chairman Nathan Hartley added: “We would be grateful for any contribution made, and with our sponsorship packages, we’ll ensure that all sponsors receive recognition and advertising opportunities prior to the event, and on the big day itself.”

For more information about sponsorship and the benefits businesses receive contact Mike Auton on 01761 434111 or by emailing [email protected]

Party in the Park officially starts at 12 noon on Saturday 14th June on Beacon Field – with festivities running until 7pm it includes the Red Post Beer Tent, hog roast, helter skelter, gladiator joust, croquet, face painting, quad bikes and much more.

Plans include seven hours of live music with performances from Heat, Whytehouse, Worry Dolls, Susan Hill School of Dance and the Victoria Hall Battle of the Bands winner.

The event also features the ‘Grant Giveaway Extravaganza’, the Sara Holley Community Award, Somer Valley FM broadcasting live, and several special-guest hosts.
