The Council’s Economic & Community Development Policy Development and Scrutiny Panel will meet soon to discuss the upcoming changes to policing in Bath.

The panel will meet at 3pm on 16th June, at The Guildhall in Bath.

Chief Superintendent Sarah Crew of Avon & Somerset Police will speak at the meeting, which will also be webcast for the first time.

The impact of the new police operating model, including the proposed changes to police stations in the Bath and North East Somerset area, will be discussed.

The Chair of the panel, Cllr Robin Moss, said: “A key element of the panel’s work is working with the police to make our communities safer, and we will welcome Chief Supt Crew as part of that discussion.”

The meeting will be held in a ‘Question Time’ format, with the public able to submit questions about the new operating model in advance, or at the meeting itself. Please send questions to the Democratic Services Officer no later than 3pm on Thursday 12th June.

For further enquiries contact Jack Latkovic, Democratic Services, on 01225 394452, or email questions to [email protected].

The webcast can be found here.

Policy Development and Scrutiny Panels consist of Councillors and some co-optees, and are a type of council “watchdog”, reviewing and scrutinising both the Council and other organisations’ work.

They examine issues that impact on the local community, and have specific duties for health and community safety.
