Bath & North East Somerset Council is improving access to the front of the One Stop Shop in Manvers Street and is reassuring the public that will they remain open during the work.
The work will take approximately 10 weeks and will create a new raised pavement, walkway and ramp to make it easier for customers with wheelchairs, mobility scooters and children’s pushchairs.
The Council wants to reassure customers that the One Stop Shop is open as usual but that they need to use the Shopmobility entrance to the right of the building during the first phase of this work, which runs until 18th July.
The next phase of work will then start outside the Shopmobility entrance from Monday July 21 until Friday August 8. During this time Shopmobility customers will need to use the main One Stop Shop entrance.
The final phase of the work is due to take place from 11th – 22nd August, but should not affect customer access.
Cllr Paul Crossley, Leader of Bath & North East Somerset Council, said: “This is essential work to improve customer access but of course there will be some disruption for a short period of time – I’d like to apologise for this.”
