Older people living in Peasedown St John are being invited to a free Christmas lunch, organised and hosted by the village’s Residents’ Association.

Featuring a traditional festive Christmas meal and Christmas sing-a-longs, this is the second year running the association has hosted the event.

Local councillor Nathan Hartley, who shall be helping the Residents Association prepare for the lunch, said: “Older people living in the community are being given another treat this Christmas.

“Following on from the Parish Council’s tea party for the elderly, and the senior citizens lunch cooked by young people at the local youth and children’s centre, this is the third such event for those over 65 years old.

“We really appreciate the role that older people play in Peasedown, and the contribution they’ve made to village life over the years.

“This is another way for us to say thank you, and to ensure they treated, with all the trimmings, this Christmas time.”

The Peasedown St John Residents’ Association Older Person’s Christmas meal will be held on Friday 19th December, at 1 pm at St John’s Close Hall.

To reserve a place and for more details contact the Residents Association Chair, Joy Gosz on 07895 572411. Entertainment will be provided.
