A new appeal for information relating to the murder of Melanie Hall after she went missing in Bath in 1996 is to be broadcast on BBC One’s Crimewatch this evening.
The appeal will focus on a car which police believe was involved in the murder, and they are seeking new information from members of the public.
A 44-year-old man was arrested in Bath in November last year on suspicion of the murder of Melanie Hall.
He was bailed by police until April, pending further enquiries.
At the time of the arrest detectives searched a property in Whiteway, and the man was questioned for two days before being released.
Melanie Hall worked at the RUH in Bath before disappearing after a night out at Cadillacs night club on Walcot Street.
Workmen discovered her remains in October 2009 at the side of a motorway near Thornbury in Gloucestershire.
The remains were identified as Melanie two days later.
In October 2013 police revealed they were looking into new information regarding a white VW Golf which they believed to be linked to the murder.
Tonight’s new appeal is featured during Crimewatch on BBC One at 9pm.
