Crews from six fire stations tackle blaze in field near Keynsham

Charlton Road near Keynsham was closed yesterday while crews from six fire stations tackled a fire in a field.

Avon Fire & Rescue Service said: “At 11.10am on Monday 11th August, crews from Bedminster, Temple, Southmead, Kingswood, Chew Magna and Bath fire stations were called to reports of a grass fire in the Charlton Road area of Queen Charlton.

“In total, nine fire engines and our drone team attended. Firefighters surrounded and extinguished the blaze.

“Avon & Somerset Police were also in attendance and temporarily closed Charlton Road while emergency services worked at the scene.”
