EE has today launched their superfast 4G mobile broadband network across the entire Bath area for local residents to enjoy speedier internet on their mobile devices.

4G from EE will offer businesses and residents across the city an improved, faster experience when using the internet on their mobile phones, laptops or tablets – with speeds five times faster than 3G technology.

EE is the only 4G mobile network available in Somerset and is also available in Weston-super-Mare and Bristol.

Steve Tucker, Regional Manager for Somerset, EE, said: “The arrival of 4G mobile in Bath is great news for our customers. 4G from EE is like having fibre broadband to your mobile phone, and allows customers to access the content they care about without the frustration of pages being slow to load, or apps not connecting.

“With Christmas coming up, there’s never been a better time to ask Santa for a smartphone. 4G unlocks its true potential – whether surfing social media, streaming live matches from the web, or downloading a large work files.”

The 4GEE Mobile Living Index, which will be released in full later this week, will reveal that 4G is set to transform Christmas shopping this year as faster mobile internet speeds allow people to shop for gifts from their mobile devices.

39% of 4GEE customers say they will buy their gifts on their smartphone or tablet this year – up from 15% last year – with fashion, electronics and books the most popular purchases.

EE recently launched new 4G plans, which include the UK’s most affordable 4G pay monthly handset packages from £18.99 with a free Android smartphone from Samsung, as well as the UK’s first 4G pay as you go handset plans – designed specifically to offer customers more flexibility and choice.

The launch of 4G means that the people of Bath will be able to have a truly connected Christmas.

EE launched the UK’s first 4G mobile network and is the UK’s largest and fastest network. The EE stores in the area offer residents and businesses mobile and Fibre Broadband services from EE, Orange and T-Mobile.
