Less than a year since Minerva Bath opened its premium car dealership for business, the company has now expanded to add a dedicated MOT centre at its Bathford premises.

Owners Jim Currant and John Lyddy, who have more than 70 years experience in the car business between them, decided to extend and open its own dedicated MOT centre to complement its existing after car sales service in response to customer demand.

Joint Managing Director Jim Currant, who began his career in the industry as an apprentice technician and is a fully qualified vehicle engineer said: “Since we opened in July last year we have done extremely well in terms of attracting interest and generating car sales however, as our customers gradually begin to return to us for servicing and  maintenance it seemed a natural progression for us to open our own MOT centre at our site rather than having to send them elsewhere.

“It means we can offer a one-stop-shop, hassle free service to our clients from buying a car and looking after it year on year.  It is also really important to us that we maintain our quality standards and this way we can ensure good value and quality in one.”

To celebrate the opening of its new MOT centre, Minerva Bath is hosting a free event “Beyond the driving seat”  to introduce car drivers to the basics of car maintenance such as how to change a tyre, check air pressure and oil levels and even how to top up your windscreen washer.

The event will take place on Thursday 26th June at 6.30pm at Minerva Bath and attendees will have a chance to speak to Minerva’s qualified technicians as well as look round the new MOT centre.

Places are free and can be reserved by contacting Morgan-Brinkhurst Consultancy on: 01225 823004 or [email protected].

Jim added: “There are many people who are good car drivers but don’t know where to start when it comes to basic car checks and maintenance.

“It is important that all car drivers do not just to be safe on the road but to keep their cars in good order between servicing.”

For more information about Minerva Bath and its new MOT centre see www.minervabath.co.uk or call 01225 850033 to book a service.

An introductory offer of £34.50 is being offered on all MOT’s booked before the 30th June 2014.
