A 44-year-old man was arrested at his Bath home last week on suspicion of the murder of Melanie Hall in 1996.

The man was arrested at his home at 8.30am last Tuesday as part of the ongoing investigation into the death of Melanie Hall, who was killed after disappearing in Bath back in 1996.
He was questioned for two days at a police station in Bristol after his arrest, and was released on Wednesday evening pending further enquiries by officers.
Police detectives searched a property in Roundhill Park in Whiteway after his arrest, which is believed to be where the man used to live.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said the man had been released on bail until 19th December.
Miss Hall’s parents Steve and Pat had been informed of the arrest and police have been keeping them updated with the developments.
Melanie Hall worked at the RUH here in Bath and disappeared after a night out at Cadillacs night club.
Workmen discovered her remains in October 2009 at the side of a motorway near Thornbury, Gloucestershire. She was identified as the victim two days later.
Last month police said they had uncovered “significant and very interesting” information and forensic experts were examining a white VW Golf which they believed to be linked to the murder.
At the time, Melanie’s father said: “This is very positive news. Gradually the pieces of the jigsaw are being put together to bring Melanie’s killer or killers to justice.
“We always knew it would take a long time, but these new developments appear very encouraging.”
