Parents and guardians of pre-school children are being invited to bring their little ones along to the Paulton Community Hub for a series of story time and craft sessions.
The sessions will run on Thursdays (1.30-2.30pm) during term times, beginning on 19th September.
The story time and craft sessions will be led by local artist Michelle Cattanach who hosted a successful book craft event in August, based on the Council’s Recycle an Ex-Library Book competition.
The children can enjoy listening to a story with their parents/guardians and then join in with drawing pictures or making their own creations out of craft materials based on the story they’ve just heard.
Councillor David Dixon (Lib-Dem, Oldfield), Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, said: “The Paulton Community Hub is proving extremely popular since it opened in April – with more than 3,000 visits being made to it in July alone.
“It’s a great flagship for Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Community Libraries Programme; which we’re developing in partnership with local groups and volunteers to help smaller communities and villages to set up and run their own services. Activities such as these story time sessions are great as they enhance and support the project and allow it to reach people of all ages.”
There are still opportunities to volunteer to help people use the library at the Paulton Hub. All that is required is a commitment to offer two hours every fortnight – full training is provided.
