Kingswood Preparatory School in Bath has raised £17,000 for the RUH’s Forever Friends appeal, a whopping £7000 more than they’d hoped.
In September 2013 the school made an ambitious pledge to raise £10,000 for The Forever Friends Appeal at the RUH.
On Monday, in the school assembly the culmination of a year’s hard work and enthusiasm came to fruition as a cheque for over £17,000 was presented to the local charity.
Over the last year pupils, parents and staff have been involved in various fundraising activities to reach the target set. A Summer Fayre, Pink Day, A Festival of Cycling and the KPS1000 Cycle from the RUH to John O’Groats are just some of the events that have ensured that the school exceeded their initial target.
Zoe Tainton, Community Fundraiser said: “Having raised an amazing £17,115 Kingswood Prep School are already being proudly acknowledged as the only school so far to become one of our ‘Community Partners’.”
Headmaster, Mark Brearey said, “Our school is committed to doing all we can for charity. We want our pupils to grow up with an awareness and understanding of those who are less fortunate than ourselves and we are proud to support such a worthwhile local charity.”
