A pedestrian footbridge in Keynsham’s Memorial Park has been closed to the public after an inspection after the recent weather found the riverbank eroded.
Following the recent structural inspection by Council engineers, the pedestrian footbridge has been temporarily closed as a precautionary measure due to erosion of the riverbank and the high water levels in the River Chew.
Once the water levels have receded further detailed inspections can take place to establish if the erosion has affected the structure and identify any works required.
The public are thanked for their patience and are advised to make use of other adjacent bridges within the park
