Local residents are being warned by the Met Office to expect more stormy weather today and into the weekend in Bath.
Yellow weather warnings have been issued by the weather forecaster, with more heavy rain and strong winds expected to cause more localised flooding and potential damage.
The Met Office are warning that the “public should be aware of the potential for localised flooding on Friday afternoon and evening due to the wet conditions.”
This weather follows on from Wednesday’s bad storms, which saw extremely heavy rain and wind gusts of up to 50mph across Bath.
The local area has been issued with yellow weather warning for rain and wind for today and into Saturday, with flooding and surface water being the main issue.
The Met Office’s chief forecaster said: “Yet another storm is now developing to the west of the Azores. It will run northeastwards across western parts of the UK during Friday and into Saturday, before clearing to the northeast.
“The associated frontal systems will bring spells of heavy and persistent rain, especially across the southern parts of England and Wales as well as further very strong winds. 10-20 mm of rain will fall fairly widely in the Yellow Warning area, with 40 mm possible across parts of the southwest of England and south Wales.”
