Sirona, the not-for-profit social enterprise which provides specialist health and social care services in Bath, is looking for people across the community it serves to help shape its future.

Sirona doesn’t have shareholders or pay dividends but has 26 members from its own staff, local councillors, partners and the community who work with the directors to shape its strategy.

Simon Knighton, Sirona’s chairman, said: “Our members act a bit like the owners of a company.

“They help to shape strategy and influence the decision making process to ensure that Sirona sticks to its aims to provide great services for the community it serves and makes a real difference to people’s lives.

“We are publicly funded by the NHS and local authorities and while responsibility for day to day management of the business sits with the directors, members make a vital contribution to the way Sirona moves forward.

“At our heart is the desire to take all our care personally and deliver care as if we were caring for a member of our own family and serve our local community to the best of our ability, therefore, it is very important that we have members of the communities we serve working with us.”

If you would like to apply, write to Simon outlining why you are applying and what you think you could bring to the role.

To request a pack please contact Kat Hall, Governance Secretary, on 01225 831298.

Applications should be sent to [email protected] or Kat Hall, Sirona care & health, Corum Business Park, Warmley, BS30 8FJ, by July 1st 2015.

Interviews for shortlisted applicants will be held on August 4th and 6th.
