Andrew Oakerbee has taken over the management of the 46-bed Circle Health Group hospital in Combe Down, beginning his role in January.

He will oversee an ambitious growth strategy focused on strengthening Bath Clinic’s position in the self-pay and insured healthcare markets.

Mr Oakerbee has spent most of his career in healthcare and joins from private hospital operator Practice Plus Group. Over the past six years, he has served as a hospital director overseeing two facilities in Bristol and Shepton Mallet.

A management accountant by background with strong commercial management experience, his appointment consolidates Bath Clinic’s standing as one of the leading private hospitals in the region.

Specialising in secondary acute care, Bath Clinic has been a key part of the healthcare system in Bath and the surrounding area for more than 40 years.

Originally from Southampton, Mr Oakerbee will focus on strengthening the clinic’s role as a leading private hospital in North East Somerset and is keen to expand its service offering to meet rising local demand.

He said: “Bath Clinic has a fantastic reputation for providing its patients with an outstanding quality of care as well as being an integral part of the business community in Bath.

“It’s a privilege to be leading the team during what is an exciting chapter in the history of the hospital.

“I look forward to working closely with my colleagues across the hospital and Circle Health Group, harnessing all of our skills and experience to take Bath Clinic forward to new heights in the months and years ahead.”
