People in Bath are being invited to find out more about preventing diabetes during an event in the city centre this Thursday, 21st April.

The Diabetes UK Bath group will be offering information and support, along with a chance to win prizes.

The group will have a stand at the bottom of Milsom Street from 10am to 4pm.

There will be an opportunity to meet and chat with members of the local Diabetes UK support group, pick up free information and find out how to prevent diabetes, keep fit and cook healthy meals.

The person who cycles the longest distance on an exercise bike in four minutes will win a discount for the YMCA gym, while visitors will also be invited to guess the calories in an Easter egg for a chance to win a mystery prize.

Clive Johnstone, chair of the Diabetes UK Bath support group, said: “We are passionate about getting our message across that there’s a lot you can do to prevent Type 2 diabetes or to live better with it if you have already had a diagnosis.

“New members are always welcome in our group. We are always here to help each other and anyone else who wants to know more about diabetes.”

For further information on the group, or the event, contact [email protected].
