The B&NES Health and Wellbeing Board will be hearing about the positive outcomes from the Council’s Connecting Families initiative, when it meets on Wednesday 14th May.

The Wellbeing board is to meet on Wednesday
Connecting Families aims to ensure that families with serious issues affecting their home lives receive the support they require.
The team works closely with these families to support them in making positive changes to live full and active lives.
The Health and Wellbeing Board will be hearing about the team’s progress with families to date as well as its plans for activity going forward.
The Health and Wellbeing Board will also discuss the impacts and challenges of winter 2013/14 on the health system and local communities, as well as the learning opportunities and recommendations from this experience.
The Board will also be receiving its first annual account on what it has been doing since it was formally established last April. The account provides a review of the Board’s work and how it has begun to implement its vision to reduce health inequality and improve the health and wellbeing of local people.
Dr Ian Orpen, Vice Chair of the Health and Wellbeing Board, said: “The Bath and North East Somerset Health and Wellbeing Board has made good progress since it was set up in April 2013.
“It has overseen and supported radical change to our local health and wellbeing system that includes the transition of the Public Health team into Bath & North East Somerset Council and the creation of the NHS Bath and North East Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).
“Together with our fellow Health and Wellbeing Board members we look forward to building on our successes going forward and addressing our challenges together.”
Members of the public are welcome to attend the Health and Wellbeing Board meeting, which will be taking place on Wednesday 14th May (10am-12noon) in the Brunswick Room, Guildhall, Bath.
People are also encouraged to watch the meeting online through a live webcast as well as get involved and pose related questions directly to the Health and Wellbeing Board ahead of the meeting via the Council’s Twitter feed @bathnes using the hashtag #HWB.
