Five people were rescued by firefighters in the early hours of this morning after a fire broke out in their flat in Bath.
Avon Fire and Rescue crews were alerted to the fire on Gloucester Road in Lower Swainswick at 3.42am.
Upon arrival of the firefighters, all the people in the flat had been accounted for and were waiting outside for the emergency services.
Initial investigations into the fire at the property have concluded that the fire was small and contained to the kitchen area.
It has been deemed accidental.
Ambulance crews were called to the scene to assess the flat occupants for smoke inhalation from the fire.
One man was taken to the Royal United Hospital for a precautionary checkup.
