A woman was taken to the RUH in the early hours of this morning after being exposed to deadly carbon monoxide from a faulty log burner on a boat in the centre of Bath.
Avon Fire and Rescue were called to the boat at 1.17am this morning, which was moored near to Pulteney Bridge.
The two people in the boat had already escaped the toxic fumes by the time the firefighters arrived and were waiting for the emergency services.
The occupants were alerted to the leak after their carbon monoxide alarm began sounding.
Firefighters conducted tests in the boat and found dangerously high levels of carbon monoxide being produced by a log burner being used.
One of the occupants, a woman in her 30s, was feeling nauseous and was given oxygen by paramedics at the scene. She was then taken to the RUH for a check up. Her condition was not believed to be life threatening.
A fan was used to ventilate the boat and firefighters removed some of the burning embers from the fire.
