Man dies following serious collision involving lorry on M4 motorway near Bath

Wiltshire Police have confirmed that a man has died following a serious collision involving a lorry on the M4 between Bath and Chippenham this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene, near to Leigh Delamere services, shortly after 5am this morning following a collision involving a Nissan Qashqai and a lorry.

The man, who was travelling in the Nissan, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Formal identification has not yet taken place.

Two other men received injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

The road was closed westbound at junction 17 (Chippenham) to allow for a full collision investigation to take place.

The M4 has now reopened between Chippenham and Bath. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Wiltshire Police on 101.
