Fire in central reservation closes busy ring road near Keynsham

Fire crews were called to deal with a blaze in the central reservation of the ring road near Keynsham today, Tuesday 14th July.

Avon Fire & Rescue Service said: “At 11.02 crews from Kingswood and Hicks Gate fire stations were mobilised to a grass fire affecting the central reservation on the A4174, between Hicks Gate and Longwell Green.

“Firefighters extinguished the fire using two high-pressure hose reels.

“The northbound carriageway was temporarily closed while crews dealt with the incident. It has since reopened.

“The fire is believed to have been started accidentally.”
