Bath bus station on Dorchester Street was evacuated this afternoon, and a number of nearby roads were closed, after a bag was left unattended at the site.
Avon and Somerset Police closed off St James’s Parade towards the station, and bus services were temporarily diverted.

The evacuation comes as the government last night decided to increase the threat level of international terrorism in the UK to ‘critical’, meaning another attack may be imminent.
The public are reminded to remain alert but not alarmed and to report any suspicious behaviour or activity on 101 or to the Anti-Terrorist Hotline on 0800 789 321.
