Avon Fire & Rescue have said that an elderly man has died after a severe fire at a bungalow in the Odd Down area of Bath on Saturday evening.
When firefighters arrived on the scene at 11.16pm on Weatherly Avenue, they found the bungalow well alight.
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the premises and found the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Using two high pressure hose reels, a covering jet and a safety jet, crews extinguished the fire.
They then ventilated the premises.
An investigation with police into the cause of the fire is continuing.
