This week Ben Howlett, Bath’s MP, welcomed the Paragon School’s Year 5 class to Parliament, with the children being given a tour, a lesson in the new education centre and a chance to grill Ben.

After meeting with the school, Ben said: “It was a pleasure to meet the Year 5 class from the Paragon School. All schools have a chance to come and visit Parliament, either through a day organised by the education centre or a tour and Q&A organised by my office.

“I want to encourage all schools to bring classes to visit.”

The Year 5 pupils enjoyed their visited and said: “I thought that Ben Howlett had a good sense of humour and was very approachable”, “Ben Howlett came across as a considerate man who genuinely wanted to help people in Bath”, and “I was pleased that Ben Howlett thinks we should stay in the EU!”

Miss Scott, teacher at the Paragon, said: “The trip to the Houses of Parliament was a wonderful way for the children to start to understand how the country is run and the democratic process.

“They particularly enjoyed meeting their own Bath MP, Ben Howlett, and questioning him.”
