The money raised will be donated to the Disaster Emergency Committee.

Students, teachers and staff at both the Royal High’s Prep and Senior Schools came together to take part in a range of activities including a solidarity walk around the grounds of the school and wearing blue and yellow clothes.

Ukrainian food was also prepared and served in the school kitchen at lunchtime.

The school community also collected items to donate such as clothes, blankets and food supplies.

The donated items will be given to the organisers of the Wiltshire Appeal who have arranged a weekly transport to Poland where the items will be distributed to a hostel in Kgierz and a volunteer centre in Lodz to help Ukrainian refugees.

Kate Reynolds, Headteacher of The Royal High School Bath, said: “Over the past week, countless students have come forward with ideas to support the crisis in Ukraine.

“There is a clear desire that we, as a community, respond by raising money and providing aid.

“All money raised will go to the Disaster Emergency Committee, which is a centralised organisation disseminating food, water, shelter, healthcare and protection to the specialist charities on the ground.”
