Kingswood School’s state-of-the-art development in Bath has edged one step closer to completion, with the final beam being placed on the structure.
The development will house a new multi-functional hall, new classrooms that will provide pupils with an inspirational learning environment, art and music spaces that will allow artistic creativity to be nurtured and a ground-breaking innovation room.
The development will also accommodate a brand new Nursery, which will be known as The Garden at Kingswood, and Pre-School welcoming children from nine months old into the Kingswood community.
Mr Mark Brearey, Headmaster of KPS, said: “At Kingswood Prep School we are aiming high. We want what our children are learning to be relevant throughout the whole of their lives and for them to be well-rounded, kind, communicative, hard-working and passionate about their world.”
“Our new development will enhance the educational journey of all of our children, and we are excited by the additional opportunities and possibilities that the new buildings will open up for our pupils.”
One of the most exciting elements of the new building will be the new Nursery and Pre-School which will provide a unique first step into a school based environment for children between nine-months-old and three-years-old.
Children will be immersed into a stimulating curriculum with an emphasis on exploration and enquiry through outdoor education as well as having access to state-of-the-art facilities and specialist teaching.
There will also be new classrooms for pupils in Reception, Year 5 and Year 6. These classrooms will provide pupils with a great facility to be taught in with easy access to outdoor areas.
With outdoor education a cornerstone of being a pupil at Kingswood Prep School, the new setup will allow for fluidity between classroom-based and outdoor education.
The new spaces also provide staff with an unrivalled and dynamic working environment which will allow them to collaborate with colleagues and ensure that a child’s educational experience is constantly improving and evolving.
The new building will be completed in the Summer of 2018 and will be open for pupils September 2018 from aged 9 months.
