A growing primary school in Bath has received a donation from a local housebuilder as part of an appeal to help fill its library with new books.
Housebuilder Bellway, which is building new homes at the Mulberry Park development off Combe Down, has donated £100 to Mulberry Park Educate Together Primary School.
The money was donated as part of Usborne Community Book Pledge, a nationwide initiative which encourages local businesses to donate to schools to help them buy new books.
Emma Garnett, Headteacher at Mulberry Park Educate Together Primary School, said: “We are really pleased Bellway have chosen to support our book pledge.
“As part of the nationwide initiative, Usborne Community Book Pledge, we are looking to raise £625 to go towards new books for our school. If we manage to raise this, Usborne Publishing will top this up to £1,000.
“It is extremely important to us that we provide our students with the best facilities, so we are very grateful for Bellway’s donation.”
Rachel Way, Sales Manager at Bellway South West, added: “It is important to us that we support schools within the areas in which we build new homes, so when we heard about the school’s book pledge, we were really keen to help.”
